Description
More collaboration work for the Cyra project. Male counterpart to [link]
All Cyra: Age of Dissonance, and related intellectual concepts are copyright of Leo Carbajal, aka "Vassi"
All artwork and visual concepts are copyright Jennifer Mealing, aka "Rashka"
The Vicae are an aggressive, nomadic, desert dwelling race. I based them on sidewinders, with their lil eye "horns", and rough, rugged looking scales.
Complete scale-fail, worse then the female. That's what I get for not using reference or taking my time. I totally sped through him just to see if I could, 1.5hours no reference except for the head.
I debated taking the time with the scales, but decided with how reduced these become for Cyra, I just needed to create visual "noise" along the body.
Overall I'm happy with him, had I taken the time I could of done a good job on the scales on both of them. I accepted defeat, that I cannot draw scales without investing a great deal of time. I do intend to "speed paint" all these within the next decade, and I will take more time with the scales then - and likely aim for hinting at scales than going all out with all of them.

The only critique I can give is about the tail. You should have perhaps cropped it right above the tail, because the upper half is well done, but the bottom half is not anatomically correct, nor is the foreshortening done very well. It looks like you drew the bottom in maybe two minutes. Not to sound harsh, the rest is very well done, it's just the tail that bugs me.
